I don't think I quite have a handle on the whole Vox Neighborhood thing. Is it like MySpace, where you are supposed to add friends as quickly and indiscriminately as possible? I doubt it. In my brief explorations of Vox, I've noticed a few profiles where people want to approve your application to their Neighborhood in some way, like a gated community I suppose.
For the moment, I've decided that I will add people to my Neighborhood based on their interestingness to me. It would probably be more polite to send a note or something when I add someone to my neighborhood, but as in the offline world, I choose which neighborhood I want to live in based on the qualities that are important to me. To paraphrase the great Groucho, I wouldn't want to belong to a neighborhood that would have me as a resident. Seriously, in real life people have to deal with the fact that I may just move in, park my car on the lawn for a couple of years, hoist a pirate flag from the yardarm and be an all-around undesirable element.
This is not to say that my only interest is being difficult, and you shouldn't expect that from me. I'm honestly interested in experiencing whatever community spouts-up within Vox.
It's just that I like being difficult sometimes. Obstinacy is a virtue. It brings me joy.
